When choosing men's underwear, quality, material, fit, purpose and personal preference are all key factors. The right pair of underwear will feel so comfortable, you'll hardly notice they're there.

Underwear styles are a matter of taste

Although there is a lot of choice when it comes to underwear, traditional boxer briefs have been a popular choice for a long time. But ultimately, choosing the right style depends on your own preferences and what feels right for your body. The only way to find out is to try out different pairs of underwear.

The fabric matters

For underwear, it's best to choose natural cellulose fibres, such as 100% cotton or cotton/spandex blends. Natural fibres are breathable, comfortable, and can respond quite effectively to body heat, keeping the body cool or warm depending on the situation.

Cotton is a strong and durable fibre, but elastane adds flexibility to the fabric. It allows the underwear to return to its original shape even after repeated washings. Without elastane, the fit could be compromised after just a few uses. However, for men's underwear, a high-quality 100% cotton fabric offers an equally comfortable and durable alternative.

Breathability is the first thing to consider when choosing any type of underwear because, when sweating, non-breathable fabric quickly becomes a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi. Cotton is a great option for everyday wear, but for sports and an active lifestyle, we recommend materials such as Tencel (also known as Modal or Lyocell) for their excellent moisture-wicking properties.

Make quality a priority when choosing men's underwear

The cheapest products are usually not of the best quality, and their production often raises environmental and ethical issues, such as poor working conditions. High prices do not always guarantee quality, either, so you need to be able to identify a quality product yourself.

High-quality underwear is distinguished by soft, snug, and crisp fabric. They feature carefully selected cuts and carefully sewn flat seams that follow the body's own lines. This way, the pair of underwear fits comfortably and stays in place. The elastic band should be firm but flexible, and the fabric should not show any unravelling of the threads. It is also worth paying attention to the washing instructions, as underwear should be suitable for a wash cycle of at least 40 degrees Celsius to effectively remove dirt and bacteria.

If underwear is washed at a higher than the recommended temperature, it is unlikely to retain its fit and properties for a long period of time. Tumble drying and excessive use of detergent/rinse aid should also be avoided, as these will prematurely wear out the material.

From an environmental point of view, it is also important to choose comfortable, quality underwear that will stand the test of time and wear.

The right size and fit matter

Underwear that is too big is uncomfortable, but underwear that is too small or too tight can pose a health risk because of skin irritation, for example, if the crotch is pinched. That's why we offer men's boxers in larger sizes as well. For this collection, we have added extra width to both the leg and the waist.

The waistband is also highly important for comfort and the right fit; it should not be too tight or loose but provide just the right amount of snugness. The ideal elastic band is both soft and stiff and fits comfortably around the waist without rolling down or digging deep into the skin.
